Good morning! I hope you are swell! I wish I could say that I was, I’m feeling a bit under the weather today. 🙁
I always get kind of sick when the seasons change. Hopefully this won’t be too bad. Keep your fingers crossed for me!
Feeling a little sick didn’t keep me from the gym last night, though, and I got totally creeped on! BLAH! (Has this ever happened to you?!)
The gym was much less crowded than normal last night, which made me very happy. I decided to hang out in the corner of the free weight area so if anyone wanted to use the benches (which were, literally, all empty) I wouldn’t be in their way and I could do my split squats and squat presses without interruption. Then, of course, some fairly (OK – ridiculously!) muscly man decided out of all of the empty benches the one right next to me was the most appealing. He proceeded to stretch, leaning closer and closer towards me, with a great big smile on his face. I had my headphones in and avoided eye contact, trying really hard not to be super rude (even though he was). The he decided while I was doing squat presses that some chest flys were a great idea. Had I not decided then to move on I would have gotten chest flied right in the face.
Gym etiquette people! Aren’t headphone the international ” I don’t want to be bothered” symbol??

I also can’t stand when people are talking on their cell phones while walking on the treadmill!
Here’s what I ate yesterday! At least my dinner totally stuck with the green theme!!!
Breakfast: 1 cup Kashi Heart to Heart Warm Cinnamon Oat with 12 walnut halves, 1/2 cup mixed berries, and 1 cup skim milk. Yogi skin detox tea.
Snack: 1 slice Wegmans 98% fat free deli turkey and 1 part-skim string cheese.
Lunch: Leftover chicken parm with spaghetti squash mixed with smart balance, parm, and (maybe too much) garlic.
Snack: 1 square Wegmans dark chocolate with almonds, coffee with skim milk and 1/2 of a splenda packet (the coffee was an attempt to get rid of my garlic breath! it actually kinda worked…though gum would have been best!).
Pre-Workout Snack: 3/4 cup nonfat greek yogurt with 1 tablespoon peanut butter.
Dinner: Turkey Taco Salad! 1 1/2 cups spinach/arugula blend, 1/2 orange bell pepper, 1/2 roma tomato, 1/4 of an avocado, 2 tablespoons diced white onion, 2 tablespoons shredded taco cheese, 1/4 cup ground turkey taco meat, 1/4 cup Wegmans garlic & lime salsa, 1 1/2 crumbled hard taco shells.
Tea Time: Celestial Seasonings Peppermint Tea – my favorite before bed time. I also curled up with my Sookie Stackhouse book. The newest one comes out in May I think?? I am obsessed with True Blood and I LOVE these books!! Anyone else out there read them??
