Eating for Two: Week 35

Wow, man, I can’t believe it’s been almost 6 weeks since I shared a real bumpdate!!! Time flies the fastest when you’re pregnant, I’m telling you!!

I am in such a weird place lately. I feel like everything I feel lately is always extreme. I’m either suppppper happy, or I want to cry my eyes out. Or I’m perky and full of energy…or I want to curl up in a ball and sleep for a week. It’s definitely a unique feeling, and I’m doing my very best to not let it get the best of me and enjoy the 5 weeks I have left to prepare for my little muffin to show her beautiful face!!!

The nursery is coming along great and I hope to have everything washed and hung up this weekend. I’ll share some pictures when it’s all done!! I already started washing sheets and blankets and bibs and towels and they’re all folded and put away. I have the sheets set up in the crib and it’s too flippin’ cute I can hardly handle it. Sure, they’ll be covered in poop and spit up soon enough, but right now they are soft and pristine and adorbs. 🙂

This weekend I’m going to do what I can to plan out and get started on a few freezer meals, too (I hope!), to just have a few things ready to go for once baby is here. Anyone have some fave’s they’d like to share with me??

Anywho, the hubs is busy watching the draft tonight so I don’t have an “official” chalkboardy bump picture, but I took this one a little while ago for funsies and it will have to suffice. 😀

35 Weeks Pregnant
How far along: 35 weeks!!

Total weight gain/loss:  I’m tipping the scales at 150 lbs these days, so that’s what, 32 pounds gained I think? I’m still very thankful it’s pretty much all in my belly. My lower back is becoming less thankful for that everyday, though.

Maternity clothes? Oh gosh, I’m really at a point now where it’s like…I only have 5 weeks left…and I do not want to buy more maternity clothes. However, it’s starting to get much warmer out, and leggings are starting to become less and less fun to wear. I have a few dresses that are not maternity but I can still wear quite comfortably. I’m just about done trying to squeeze myself into jeans even with my belly band.

Stretch marks? Nada!!

Sleep: It depends on the night. I’m not waking up to pee at all, which is nice, but even when I just sleep in a tank top and underwear I’ll get into bed cold and wake up at 2:00am sweating!! I’ve also found that for me to get a good night of rest I need to sleep on the opposite side I slept on the night before. I know it sounds weird…but it’s working for me.

Miss anything? Lol how about bending down without having to spread my legs like I’m about to hop on a horse. Otherwise, I’m good. 😀

Movement: So much, in fact, I’m curious when she sleeps!! I know I’ve read quite a bit about babies sleep cycles being the opposite of their mother’s but I’m telling you I feel her all day!!! It makes me wonder if maybe she just sleeps when I do.

Food cravings:  Not craving much these days. I’m all up on citrus fruits again lately, I guess. I smelled oranges at the farmers market and decided I needed them.

Food aversions: Nope!

Anything making you queasy or sick: I’m not queasy or sick but I have coined a new term for what I experience the most of lately. They’re called “hiccurps”. I do it a million times a day. It starts off feeling like a hiccup, and ends in a burp. Freakin’ adorable, I know.

Best moment this week: Meh, this week hasn’t really had one of those. It’s not like this week has been AWFUL, just really long and stressful at work. I guess actually I was quite excited this morning when I FINALLY got in touch with the pediatrician’s office after a week of phone tag and got my appointment scheduled lol.

Labor signs: I feel like I mayyyy have had a few Braxton Hicks contractions over the last week, but who knows really. It was just like all of a sudden my belly went from squishy to rock solid and back after a few minutes.

Symptoms: Some lower back pain that I’ve been trying to take care of with yoga and a heating pad. It’s definitely helping. Though sitting at work all day certainly isn’t. *sigh* And I pretty much feel like this…all the time:

EmmoooootinallllBelly Button in or out? In, but it’s definitely stretching to maximum capacity.

Wedding rings on or off? On! Since it’s gotten warmer out, though, I’m definitely noticing that they are more snug than ever before.

Happy or Moody most of the time: Please see above lol.

Looking forward to: The weekend of course. This one should be pretty chill and productive. We’re probably going to see the new Spider-Man, too, which is prettttty exciting. And hopefully getting froyo with Ashely and Jared on Sunday. <3

How far along: 35 weeks!!

Total weight gain/loss:  I’m tipping the scales at 150 lbs these days. I’m still very thankful it’s pretty much all in my belly. My lower back is becoming less thankful for that everyday, though. :D

Maternity clothes? Love them!!! Though I was quite excited yesterday when I slipped on my green Gap khakis and they still fit great everywhere but my belly!! This belly band was probably the best investment I’ve made throughout this whole pregnancy!! I’ve got a shopping cart filled with maternity stuff at Old Navy.com, too, that I may or may not buy this weekend. It’s spring, ya’ll, and I need some dresses!!

Stretch marks? Nope!!

Sleep: I actually slept for like 9 hours last night. I’m getting it while I can I suppose.

Miss anything? I’m back to really missing my runny yolks. I love me a plate of eggs benedict. I’m pretty positive at this point in time my post baby diet will consist of smoked salmon eggs benedict, sushi, and melty brie and sangria.

Movement: Oh goodness yes!! All week this little lady has been tumbling and somersaulting like a little nut!

Food cravings:  I really only ever want to eat chocolate and peanut butter and only eat other things for nourishment. I’m actually sooooo sad that I left my bag of chocolate chips in my desk drawer at work today so I can’t have my chocolate chip peanut butter banana oatmeal tomorrow. :( Eggs it is I suppose.

Food aversions: Nope!

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope!

Best moment this week: Signing back up to be a Pampered Chef consultant!! I’m so excited about it!! There are so many amazing new products that I can’t wait to have in my personal kitchen and I look forward to helping whoever I can earn free and discounted products for themselves, too!!!

Gender predictionGIRL!

Labor signs: Nada.

Symptoms:  I’ve been pretty emotional this week. Or maybe just for the last 24 hours. Last night, I’m pretty sure I started crying because I was bored. I don’t even know. I just started bawling out of nowhere!!! Oh hormones!

Belly Button in or out? In!

Wedding rings on or off? On!

Happy or Moody most of the time:  Moody pants McGee over here.

Looking forward to: SO MUCH!!! This weekend will be productive and relaxing, next weekend we get to see Bill and Susan again, the next weekend we’ll be in South Carolina, and the next weekend I get to see my Momma and it’s my baby shower!!! Ahh!!! So much happiness!!!!

Here are some photos from the day! I hope you all enjoy.

glorious cupcakesWe got our deliciously perfectly amazing red velvet cupcakes with PINK cream cheese filling and super cute decorations from Wendi of Sweet Treats Cake Boutique of Mechanicsburg. Seriously, if you’re in Central PA see her for all of your cupcake/cake/cookie needs. She’s the best! She even gave us a cute lil’ pink rubber ducky sealed in a gift bag for us to open.

yummy!

Such gorgeous, delicious cupcakes!

punch! We served pink or blue punch to all! The pink was just sprite and cranberry juice (my beverage of choice). The blue was lemonade with a packet of unsweetened blue raspberry lemonade kool aide. Both were tasty!

Nicole and INicole was one of the few lemonade drinkers. 🙂 Someone had to support Team Blue!

the quizBefore we dug into the cupcakes, I prepared a little quiz for everyone to take about pregnancy old wives tales! Only my friend Susan got 100% and bragging rights. According to these old wives tales…I was just as likely to be having a boy as I was a girl! It was time to find out for reals…

Eating for Two: Week 18

18weekspregnantHow far along: 18 weeks!

Total weight gain/loss: I’ve gained ten pounds and I’m sitting pretty at 125 lbs.

Maternity clothes? I used some of the money I got for Christmas and just got a HUGE order from Old Navy. I’m really liking it all so far. 2 pairs of leggings, 3 tank tops, maternity compression capris (LOVE!! And LOVE that they were under $30), a maxi skirt, 4 pretty tops, and a partridge in a pear tree. (Sigh. Christmas came and went so fast this year. Booooo.)

Stretch marks? None that I can notice. I’ve been slathering my entire body in lotion daily. Though my skin is suuuuuuuuuuuuppppper itchy…not just my belly…everywhere. Especially on my spine. It’s weird.

Sleep: I love it. And it loves me. And I’m trying to get as much as I can while I still can!

Miss anything? The sauna. *sigh* We switched over our gym memberships to a new place a few weeks ago and this new one has what appears to be a very lovely sauna. I popped my head in once to see. We shall reunite one day, sauna!

Movement: Nothing that I’ve noticed yet – unless you count baby trampolining on my bladder when I run lately. Though I don’t really feel movement. Just an urge to pee the instant I exceed 4.9 mph on the treadmill!

Food cravings:  Not really a craving per say but I’ve been devouring clementines lately!

Food aversions: Meh – chicken is starting to bug me again. Otherwise no.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nah.

Have you started to show yet: Heh – you tell me!

Best moment this week: Johnny and I met up with our friend and former co-worker (I miss youuuu), Myla, and her husband for lunch today! It was lovely catching up and we definitely all need to hang out more!

Gender prediction: Sticking with girl!

Labor signs: No. That’s just silly.

Symptoms: I’ve been extra emotional and forgetful this week. I had a good cry on Wednesday for just about no reason at all. I’ve also been having some lower back pain this week. However, one of the ladies I work with has been kind enough to lend me her stability ball chair and it’s helping to alleviate some of it since I have to sit all day long. (Thanks, Christina!)

Belly Button in or out? In!

Wedding rings on or off? Still on and still sooo loose because it’s been so cold this week.

Happy or Moody most of the time:  This was probably a moody week – but I’m THRILLED it’s the weekend!!

Looking forward to: FINDING OUT IF BABY YODER IS A BOY OR A GIRL!!! EEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!! My ultrasound is on the 23rd! I’m soooooooooo excited to get another peek at this little bladder bouncer! We’re having a silly little gathering with a few close friends on the 25th to share the gender with everyone! I. CAN’T. EFFING. WAIT!

And now for your viewing pleasure, I present to you Quincy and Ralf. These guys are so photogeneic…and I like playing with my new camera!  Enjoy!

14 Weeks and Counting!

I am officially in my second trimester of pregnancy and feeling awesome! It’s so bizarre that I’ve been pregnant for 3 months already.  I’m SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO happy everyone finally knows about it. It makes me even more excited about everything knowing that everyone else is so excited for us! I’m feeling the love people, and I can’t tell you how much I appreciate it!

14weeks

How far along: 14 weeks and 4 days pregnant

Total weight gain/loss: I weighed myself at the gym last week and the scale read 122.5. That’s 7.5 lbs total so far!

Maternity clothes? Not yet! Though my work pants that used to be HUGE on me are starting to fit kind of nicely around the tummy area.

Stretch marks? No sir.

Sleep: Slept quite well all week! Hooray!

Miss Anything? Imma have to go with runny eggs again! (I did discover that pasteurized feta is a thing thanks to a nice guy at work!! ) We went to a diner for breakfast yesterday and it’s so sad to order eggs over hard.

Movement: Not that I can tell at all.

Food cravings: I’m still drinking milk like it’s my job. Also started drinking and LOVING lime seltzer water this week.

Food Aversions: Nothing new this week…though I would like to reiterate to my beautiful sister-in-law that I still (and will always) hate pickles. NOTE: My sister-in-law Melinda is convinced that pregnant Jen will love pickles. If not now than with future pregnancies. I assure you, she doesn’t now…and won’t ever. Theyyyyyyyyyy’re sooooooooo ickyyyyyyyyy!!!

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nah.

Have you started to show yet: There’s a definitely a lil’ bump now…maybe with just a litttttttttle layer of chub on top.

Best moment this week:  This whole weekend was perfection!! Susan and Bill came out to visit! We saw the newest Hobbit movie on Friday night and I loooovvvveddddddddddd it!!! Bilbo is such a Boss! Saturday Susan and I ran just under 4 miles in the snow and it was fun and festive – albeit a bit chilly!! Then we proceeded to have a fun filled evening of cooking baking, Christmas music, AMAZING 5 cheese mac and cheese with pancetta made by yours truly (I will share the recipe for it later this week!) and Christmas movies with a great group of gals!! Yesterday we just relaxed. I napped. I ate more cookies. And Johnny and I got to watch  A Muppet Christmas Carol!! My FAVORITE Christmas movie!! What’s your favorite Christmas movie?? And Christmas cookie, for that matter?!

Gender prediction: Girl. It’s official. I think it’s a girl.

Labor Signs: No. That’s just silly.

Symptoms: Feeling pretty happy and symptom free this week!

Belly Button in or out? In!

Wedding rings on or off? On! It’s super loose actually because it’s so cold!

Happy or Moody most of the time:  I was a little moody for no reason on Saturday. Otherwise happy!!

Looking forward to: Seeing my Dad and extended family this weekend!!!

Introducing Twenty-Something & Starving: Eating for Two!!

Well hello, friends! I know it’s been quite a while since you’ve heard from me. But who cares?! I have what is absolutely, positively,  the most exciting news ever in the history of forever to share with you!!

I’m pregnant!!

You read that correctly! I’m going to be a Mommy, Johnny is going to be a Daddy, and Quincy is going to be a big brother! We are all over-the-moon excited about it!!!

In true blogger fashion, I’ve decided that now that we’ve shared the news with our loved ones that I will be tracking my weekly progress right here on my blog. I’ll have a whole new section dedicated to Baby Yoder (this kid is spoiled already – a whole blog section all to his/herself!). I shall call it: Twenty-Something & Starving: Eating for Two!! I will be including all sorts of fun photos, detail how I’ve been feeling, share any exciting news, AND I will still be doing what I can to share a healthy recipe with you here and there.

me

So here is my first Eating for Two post. I hope you enjoy it!! (If you don’t, well, only about 28 weeks left. 🙂 )

How far along: Technically, my week changes over on Thursday. That means today, I am 12 weeks and 4 days pregnant.

When did you know? Well, funny story really. In October I ran in my first half marathon with one of my best friends in the whole world, Susan. I was following a 12 week training schedule. During some of our runs together, I started talking about how my boobs felt bigger and sore (which you would definitely notice if you were training for a half marathon) and we both just thought, “Oh snap, I might be pregnant!” and then we didn’t really think about it for a while. Before all of my runs I would always eat a banana with some peanut butter. During my last few weeks of training before the big race I started experiencing the worst indigestion and heartburn during my runs. I was really disappointed in myself when I went out two weeks before the race for a 12 miler and only got 3.5 miles in before I thought I was going to lose my banana and peanut butter all over the sidewalk. Little did I know that at that point in time I was already 3 weeks pregnant! I finished my first half marathon in 2 hours, 22 minutes, and 36 seconds when I was 5 weeks pregnant and I didn’t even know! I took a pregnancy test a week later and well…here I am today!! Here’s some adorrrrrable photos of Susan and I at the finish line and with our medals!!

1385986_10151942800556348_1522876600_n1013356_10151922162336348_1945446948_n

Total weight gain/loss: Well, when I ran the half marathon I weighed in at 115 pounds. Since then I’m up to 120 pounds. I think most of it has to do with the fact that, although I am still running and working out regularly, I’m not running 20+ miles per week nor am I nearly as strict with my diet. The doctor says I’m healthy so hooray!

Maternity clothes? Not yet required! This is thanks, in large part, to the fact that when I dropped down to 115 pounds I didn’t ever go out and buy pants that fit! So my pants that were loose then are almost fitting me the way they are supposed to now!

Stretch marks? Not that I can tell at this point.

Sleep: Meh – I’ve definitely slept better. I wake up quite a bit in the middle of the night for no reason and have a hard time falling back asleep. And I pretty much always wake up at 3:00 am to pee!

Miss Anything? Runny eggsssss!! I would pretty much eat them for breakfast at least once a week. But no more. *Sigh* This baby better be cute! 😀

Movement: No not yet, but sometimes Johnny will listen to my belly to see if he can hear Baby’s heartbeat! He can’t. Lol. He’s silly.

Food cravings: Oh geeez, anything with cheese! Seriously it’s ridiculous. I’ve stocked up on Kraft Mac & Cheese (the Monster’s Inc ones!) and have been trying to only have it every other week. I’m doing okay so far. Also, steak and red meat in general – which is super weird for me! Grapefruit and grapefruit juice…annnnnnd S’mores Poptarts. It seems to me at this point in time that baby will be a lot like Daddy.

Food Aversions: It’s really bizarre but I have almost no desire whatsoever to drink tea!! I also don’t feel awesome about halfway through my meal if it has chicken in it. A few bites and I’m good, but anymore than that makes me feel kind of queasy. This just started over the last two weeks, and I’m still trying to figure out how to deal with it because chicken is such a huge part of my diet!

Anything making you queasy or sick: If my belly is empty, belly is not happy.

Have you started to show yet: Mehhh – I can feel a difference in my belly if I touch it, but I still don’t think you can really notice anything yet.

Best moment this week: Unrelated to baby, it was Thanksgiving last week and I sure do love Thanksgiving! We spend this Thanksgiving with my sister-in-law Melinda’s future in-laws! (Say that five times fast!) There was so much delicious food!!! I have so much to be Thankful for this year. I’m really looking forward to the rest of the holiday season!

Gender prediction: Oh man, I have no idea. Everyone wants a girl!! I just want a healthy lil’ baby. I kind of maybe feel like it’s a girl though. Buuuuuuuuuuuuuut we’ll have to wait and see!

Labor Signs: No. That’s just silly.

Symptoms: I am a burp factory. It doesn’t matter what I do or don’t consume – I just burp all day. I’m actually enjoying carbonated beverages a bit more than I used to specifically because they make burping easier. I’ve always been super emotional and I’ve always peed more than any normal person I know – so I don’t feel like what I’m experiencing now is all that different than it was, but I figured I’d throw that in there, too! Also – FORGETFULNESS! Ugh, this is probably the worst. I almost forgot to add it as a symptom! There was a morning a few weeks back, where for the life of me I couldn’t remember where I put my keys (note: I left them in the pocket of my bathrobe…yeah…I don’t even know) annnnnd I got so upset I cried. Oh life!

Belly Button in or out? In!

Wedding rings on or off? On! They’ve always been kind of loose actually, and I was thinking about getting them resized. Now I think I shall wait until after baby.

Happy or Moody most of the time: Even though Johnny keeps calling me “Moody Pants” (which, btw, doesn’t help when I am feeling on the moodier side!) I’d like to say happy. I’m so excited for Christmas this year!!!

Looking forward to: Finding out if Baby Yoder is a boy or a girl!!! Annnnnnnnnnnnd the girls weekend I have planned in two weeks! Annnnnnnnnnnnnd CHRISTMAS!!!!

Yay, life! Yay, babies! Yay, holiday season!! Oh snap – add a (decaf) Peppermint Mocha to that list of cravings. Though I won’t blame baby for this one. I blame my (AWESOME) Christmas playlist that I’m listening to and the association I have with peppermint mocha and the holidays! I really am a marketers dream. Lolz. That’s all for now folks! Let’s see if I can get a recipe up this week, too!!
