About Me
Hey there, folks! Welcome to Mommy Runs for Food! I’m Jen! (It’s nice to meet you!). I am a 26 year old Momma of a beautiful baby girl and a handsome pup. I love to run and do yoga, I love healthy living, but mostly – I just love food!
For quite some time, this blog was known as Twenty-Something and Starving. I can admit that, yes, I am still twenty-something and I am certainly still starving – but this blog has become so much more than that and I knew that I had to reflect that in my title and my writing. I write about so much more than food – though it’s still my primary focus. It’s about my family and family in general. It’s about staying healthy. It’s about balancing so many things in life. So Mommy Runs for Food has been born!
So a little more about me…I was born and raised in northern New Jersey so I love a good diner, taylor ham and cheese sandwiches, and disco fries. A few other favorites of mine that are a little less regional include matzoh ball soup, dark chocolate, blueberries, string cheese, guacamole, pad thai, and chipotle peppers! I also always dip my chicken fingers and french fries in honey and my chocolate chip cookies in orange juice. Don’t judge me until you’ve tried them for yourself! I started running and doing yoga consistently two years ago. Since becoming a Mom, I do most of my workouts at home. I am planning to train for and run in my first marathon this fall!
My husband, John, loves to eat as much as I love to cook, so it works out pretty well between us! John makes me laugh every day and encourages me to do what I love. He is the handsomest, goofiest, hardest working, pizza loving man that I know and there is no one in the world I would rather spend my life with. I am so lucky to have married my best friend!
We were blessed with our baby girl Emma in June of 2014. She has made me understand what it really means to say something is your pride and joy. I’m so proud that I made this little human. I’m so proud of how she’s developing, and she brings me so much joy I don’t even know what to do with myself!
Quincy, our little man, loves to eat as much as we do. He’s particularly fond of bacon, carrots, and cheese…see! He’s super excited to be a big brother!!
So grab some coffee (or tea if you please) and chill!
I hope you enjoy my recipes!
I’d love to hear from you!
